In view of the current pandemic, and in particular our print association with hospitals, nursing homes, schools and places of heavy public traffic, we felt that it was necessary to work with our suppliers in sourcing a product that would assist to curb the spread of bacteria on paper surfaces.

Biomaster is a broad-spectrum antimicrobial additive that is incorporated into our current coatings. The application becomes an integral part of the end product, providing durable lifelong protection against the threat of cross contamination.

After testing and application to paper and board, including the certification of the product with our UK supply partner, our current sanitised coating was given the green light to be applied owing to its effectiveness on paper and board.

All Biomaster treated products are independently tested to ISO standards and are effective against bacteria associated with critical markets such as healthcare, food hygiene, building materials and consumer.*

Biomaster is based on silver ion technology and has three modes of action. When bacteria comes into contact with a Biomaster protected surface, the silver ions prevent them from growing, producing energy or replicating, therefore they die.

Biomaster is incredibly durable, long lasting and highly active. When added, it becomes an integral part of the product. Silver is inorganic and non-leaching which means that unlike organic antimicrobial technologies,
it stays within the item to which it is added.

The controlled release of the active ingredient provides maximum antibacterial protection for the lifetime of the product.



Biomaster additives have been proven to reduce the overall levels of bacteria on inks and lacquer coatings by up to 99.9%.

In typical tests, coatings treated with Biomaster reduced the levels of E. coli and Staphylococcus aureus by over 99% achieving ISO 22196:2011.
